Splash-n-dash is owned and operated by Laura Garvey and Stephen Stewart. We are happy to welcome dogs and their owners to participate in various dog sports.
Retirement offered Laura the opportunity to spend more time and energy training dogs and participating in dog sports. We started training and taking clinics and lessons with our dogs a few years ago and quickly realized that there was a lack of dog training/trials in the South East corner of the province. For a couple of years, we travelled from Estevan to Alberta and Manitoba to work with our dogs.
Now we are trying to share training and trialing opportunities in our corner of the province. We purchased our pool and dock in 2025. In 2026 we are making some changes including lowering our deck to regulation height and adding in an air retrieve (HighTide) rig! We are also looking at ordering a larger pool! Currently our dock is 40’ long and our pool is 13’x40’.
We were very happy with the response we received from dog owners and handlers in the area last year. We held 2 successful clinics with a talented judge and handler from Alberta. This year we are adding 3 K9Wave competitions, 2 dock diving clinics, 2 herding clinics with the Talented Jamie Gardner, a working dog clinic with Charlie Randolph and a fall clinic with the very knowledgeable Cassandra Beach and Rockenson Angrad.
All this, while continuing to build our own skills and training by partaking in clinics and trials.
This summer we will continue to welcome people to rent the pool and come and practise.
